First Swim Lesson

Bill had his first swim lesson on Wednesday. He seemed to enjoy it.

He didn't fuss when dunked, surprisingly. Mommy seemed to be having a great time. Daddy sat out, because he had a meeting afterward.

Bill found another saucer toy

He never really played with the flower thing before on the saucer. This evening he was checking it out, grabbing and releasing it, and grabbing it again. Pretty cool watching him grow bit by bit.

Time to clean the house

Latest Updates

Hmmm, well... Bill and I have been getting jogs in almost everyday. Our favorite is about 4 miles around Lincoln Park.

Bill is making lots of noise and grabbing things alot. He isn't crawling yet but he rolls and moves a little. Daddy put him on the couch the other day to do something in the kitchen. Daddy came back just in time t grab Bill by the leg as he went off the couch.

His sleeping isn't as consistent as it was, with maybe 1 or 2 wake ups per night.

We were sitting in bed a couple of mornings ago, reading the paper with him sitting between us. Steph gave him some paper to read, I think it was a JC Penney insert. He pulled his hands apart and held it in front of him for a couple of seconds like his Mommy and Daddy do before crunching it and chewing on it.

He likes lots of attention, holding, entertaining. He and I went to a play time at the library this morning. There were about a dozen Mom's there. I think it wore him out a little watching all the action going on. Sometimes, only a couple of times so far he has busted out with what almost sounds like a word.

Oh yeah, our day care provider gave notice. So we are scrambling to find a replacement. This creates a little stress. We kinda had some communication problems with our first one.

Latest Update

Yesterday, we hosted a play date pot luck lunch at our house. We had 3 Moms and Babies over plus ourselves. It was great enjoying the company of nice folks from our neighborhood while babies rolled, crawled, slept, or just swung their arms around.

Bill was very interactive with Lili and Rose. He likes watching other babies and grabbing hands with them.

After everyone left, we got our stuff together and went and checked out the Lake Youngs Trail over in Kent. It is a dirt and gravel trail that follows a fence line around Lake Youngs. The lake is fenced off as a county water source. Inside the fence is very pretty woods. I spied some deer down one of the roads on the other side of the fence. Outside the fence are roads about 60% of the way and the rest is between houses and horse lots. It is a beautiful 9.8 mile trail. I hadn't run in a few days due to a sore throat, so my body suffered through it around a 10 minute/mile pace. I'm hoping to go back with the baby jogger, it should be alot of fun pushing Bill through it assuming the mud dries up this summer.

Today, Mommy had to work. Bill and I hung out at home and cleaned up the backyard a bit. We weeded out front as well. He is starting to get too big for the Snugli chest pack, and dangled in front of my chest as I pulled weeds.
I got the Baby Jogger cleaned up, it didn't clean much but at least I think any germs or extra dirt is gone. After taking lunch to Mommy this afternoon, we went for a quick spin around the
block and it worked great. He needs a pad to push him into the harness a little more, but his head seems to stay reclined back. My main concern is his holding his head up, but lately it seems like he is pretty strong with that so I think we are good to start using it.
Tonight, a nice sunny walk around the neighborhood with Mom and Butch and the red jogger.

My God, That Baby is Huge

It was great having Bill/William's Great Grandmother come visit this weekend. He got a bath at one point and I snapped a couple of photos after weighing him.
Perspective is everything, he weighed in at 17.6 lbs. He's a big ole boy. But once he starts crawling and running, he's gonna need the extra calories.

Warm by the Fire

It's April and after a walk at the park, we thought a fire would be
nice.

Mega-Saucer

Bill has been taking to the mega-saucer play thing. At first, he could only hang there watching it and barely interacting. Shortly, he would tire of keeping himself upright.
Now he stays in there longer and longer each day, and engages a little more with each of the toys attached to it. It has been neat to watch this each day.

This morning, Mommy played with him so much on the bed with the newspaper that he zonked himself out for a 30 minute nap. Then of course, he needed a bath to get ready for this afternoon.
