Yoga Day

Bill and I went to Yoga today. We did some smiling dog and flying shiva stances. It was all good. We then took lunch to Mommy. There were some fire trucks outside the pharmacy, but I don't think he paid them much attention.

Today in class, we talked about branding. Particularly cobranding. It was fun.

Been a While Writing

Sorry, haven't posted text in a while. Leading theory is that the weather has been really good lately. I mean really good, like 50 degrees and crystal blue skies.

Monday, Bill and I went for a walk on Alki with the Mom's group. It was fun, we stroller pushed for quite a distance. The weather was great. I think I actually got a bit of a sunburn. Bill got a great nap. Afterwards, we took lunch to Mommy during her break.

Yesterday, Mommy had the day off. We all went and did Mommy & Baby Yoga. They were very happy to have a Dad there, too. I think every baby got fussy at least once during the session. Bill was no exception, and we handed him back and forth between Smiling Dog and Diving Royal Pigeon poses. It was hard not to laugh at some of the pose names. But I did enjoy it, and was amazed at the workout gained at such a low intensity. Afterwards, we had lunch at home and then went to Lincoln Park. I ran two laps around the park for about 4 miles and the rest of the crew strollered. And for the evening, a full helping of Brand Management.

Today, Mommy is back to work in Redondo. Bill was super active this morning when we got up, which was fun. After she left, he got a little fussy and took a nap in the swing. Whenever I tried to put him in his chair, he would get fussy again. I tried to branch out and make a dinner for lunch today, so there would be leftovers for Mommy. Presto Pressure Cooker to the rescue. I ended up making some "gumbo" because I wanted to use Okra, but kinda wish I had found something with potatoes as well. It turned out really bland but edible.

This afternoon, we will take the dog for a walk and maybe try and hit the japanese store down in Georgetown to see if they have any good stuff. Then I have to head to class.

15 lbs of Love

Had a quick weighing this morning before Steph left for work. Bill is 15 lbs now. That is an 87.5% increase in his weight since birth.

Happy Valentines Day

This Valentine's Day happened to also be both of our days off. So we had a romantic family outing downtown. First stop, to buy 60 tulips in different colors at the Pike Place Market.
Second stop, buying perfume at Macy's. Not being a connoisseur of perfume, I did the safe thing and brought my valentine along. People who know me well will be surprised that I purchased perfume. Perhaps I'm growing up, or perhaps the baby in the house has punctured my no scent armor. Either way, a little whiff of perfume can be kinda sexy.

There was a sale, and I got a sweater as well.

After Macy's, we wandered back to the market and had lunch in a cafe looking out over Elliott Bay. It was warm in the sun and great to sit down.
Tonight, Mommy & Daddy have a bottle of wine and takeout chinese planned.

Bill got a great hat from his grandmother yesterday, that we will surely have photos of shortly. Many strangers commented on his cute hat in the market. He also got a Starbucks card from his Great Aunt, that we will surely drain. And a Teddy Bear from his other Great Aunt. Mommy got a box of the most beautiful grapefruits. Everyone is so thoughtful.

Happy Valentine's Day!

Bill says "Aaaack OOOOOOoooh".

Big smiles

Smiles are amazing. I know it is cliche, but I really didn't get it so much until I was a father.

Last night, we went to visit some friends and their two daughters. We brought them pizza and company to console them after their loss. But more importantly, we brought Bill who I think made them happier with his smiles.

Steph has been hearing from friends that Bill looks alot like his father. I don't see it myself, yet. But every now and then, when he smiles real big I see my father and my uncle's smile. It isn't in a particular facial feature for me, it's just caught in a moment of a smile. And it is beautiful

Merlin out our window

This isn't much of a photo, but look out the wire about 10 feet from out window, and there is a Merlin sitting on the wire. The Merlin sat there for about 30 minutes while Bill and I shared a bottle. Well, Bill drank it all while I just helped. A Merlin is a small bird of prey up to about 14" in length distinguished by it's straight heavily banded tail. Yes, I used our bird identifier card.

Bill slept for a really long time again last night, which was great. Mom left around 8:30 for work. Bill hung out while I emailed classmates and took care of some homework. He drank about two bottles, and then was getting somewhat cranky. So now he is sleeping in the swing while I blog and bid on classes for next quarter. It's all about time management. Next, we go grab some lunch and take it to Mommy.

This evening, Brand Management.

Friday, we're signed up to join the Moms group for a stroller walk at Alki. It should be good.

Noises

What a day? First, I awoke this morning to listen to Bill
entertaining himself. We got to visit Mommy at work. This evening we
talked to both grandmas on the phone. He made lots of noises for
them. Finally, I've been working on the pacifier some more. He takes
it a little longer now. And a little nontraumatic tummy time. What a
day!

Ayaiyai

Steph had a rough day at work, and Daddy had a tiring afternoon selling the truck. So we went down to South Park for some grub. Bill hammed it up with Mommy in the restaurant.

Daddy Duties

Mommy is off to work and the guys are hanging at home working on selling the truck. There seems to be plenty of interest in it. Yes Bill, your parents were very cool. They drove a cool Toyota Tacoma and got out rock climbing and fly fishing in the mountains all the time. They can't wait to take you to these same places.

On another note, it is amazing how much it hits you. He's perfect, he's beautiful, he's awesome. Sure he can be smelly and loud, but then he smiles or just falls asleep. What an adventure.
